Meet the dream team
When Bob Sewell was in charge of TD Waterhouse Private Investment Counsel, he played a strategic role in one of Canada's largest banks—but something was missing. His extensive experience in global portfolio management was making a difference to TD corporate, but he missed connecting directly with clients. That's why, in 2009, he decided to create Bellwether Investment Management Inc.
Bob was an expert in investing his clients' money, but he knew many investors—particularly younger families—needed more comprehensive financial planning help. That's why, in 2011, he asked his good friend and co-founder of Investment Planning Counsel, Steve Meehan, to become a partner. Steve had led one of Canada's largest financial planning firms for almost 20 years. He knew how to help families achieve their financial dreams.
Since then, Bob and Steve have assembled a team of experienced portfolio managers, skilled financial planners (that we call family wealth advisors) and operations folks with the same commitment—to positively influence the futures of affluent individuals and families and help organizations achieve their investment performance targets.
And just plain nice.
What do the founder of one of Canada's largest advisory firms, a former senior vice president at Canada's largest bank, a popular money expert on a radio phone-in show and a CFL hall-of-famer have in common?
They're all members of the Bellwether team, bringing their years of experience, disciplined approach to investing and personalized service to discerning individuals and organizations across the country.
"Each Bellwether team member has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, and the team’s independence, agility and devotion to the distinct needs of affluent families provides a unique blend of skills and can-do attitude that work to their client’s benefit."

IN THE COMMUNITY
Sharing the wealth
We believe in giving back, both at home and in our global community. Bellwether team members have sat on the investment committees of local community foundations, climbed mountains to make the wishes of children in need come true, offered financial advice over the airwaves, run marathons to fight diabetes, and more.
Today, much of our inspiration comes from the Pinball Clemons Foundation, created in 2006 by our Senior Vice President, Michael "Pinball" Clemons. The Foundation is dedicated to local and global youth empowerment, building schools, sending kids to summer camp, offering scholarships, donating food, ensuring communities have clean water and more.
