What is the opportunity?

The Vice President, Advisor Recruitment (Canada) is tasked with managing the end-to-end lifecycle of advisor recruitment throughout the Canadian market. The ideal candidate is a highly driven professional possessing a deep, pre-existing network of advisor prospects and a deep understanding of the wealth management industry. The successful candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of successfully navigating and managing complex transitions within the Canadian regulatory frameworks, specifically the provincial securities commissions and CIRO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Generation: Leverage an established professional network to proactively identify and engage high-performing advisor teams.
  • Strategic Advocacy: Effectively articulate the strategic value proposition of our platforms to prospective advisors.
  • Deal Structuring: Collaborate closely with the VP, Corporate Development (North America), to engineer competitive transition packages that align strictly with the firm's profitability and growth metrics.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor competitive activity and gauge advisor sentiment across all Canadian regions.

Qualifications

  • Robust Advisor Network: Must possess a cultivated, warm list of high-tier advisor prospects primed for immediate engagement.
  • Industry Experience: 10+ years of proven success in recruitment or business development within the Canadian wealth management sector.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of Canadian advisor transition protocols and corresponding securities regulations.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker capable of translating overarching corporate vision into precise, actionable plans.

Compensation & Performance Structure

This success-linked package is designed to attract a high-performing veteran.

  • Base Salary: A competitive annual base salary.  Non-Discretionary Growth Incentives: A performance-linked incentive calculated as a percentage of the first-year Gross Revenue (GDC) generated by recruited advisors. The calculation is based on a tiered payout rate corresponding to specific revenue brackets achieved during the year.
  • Performance Bonus: Eligibility for a bonus contingent upon achieving qualitative KPIs, including pipeline depth, advisor recruitment volume, advisor retention, and overall integration success.

Working conditions

  • This is a hybrid role, but the individual will be required to attend regular meetings at Bellwether’s head office.
  • Travel is required in this role.
