What is the opportunity?

The Compliance Officer will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Compliance Officer. Implementing a risk based compliance approach meeting our regulatory obligations as governed by the Ontario Securities Commission, Anti money laundering, Privacy and other governing bodies as required.  The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and be client-service centric with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize work. The successful candidate is a team player, ready to take on new challenges, working well under pressure and utilizing their excellent problem solving skills to help others. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, CRM software, and portfolio management
  • Knowledge and application of AML and Privacy policies and procedures. Past training an asset
  • Well versed in the discretionary portfolio management business with direct compliance experience with the regulation of OSC registered PM firms
  • Canadian Securities Course or other industry or college courses in the area of financial services or investment management would be an asset
  • Collaborative spirit and comfortable working both in a team environment & on individually assigned tasks
  • Can-do roll up the sleeves attitude, quick learner with a thirst for knowledge and excels in a fast paced, quick change environment
  • 3 to 5 years work experience

Portfolio Administrator Location: Oakville

What is the opportunity?

The Portfolio Administrator will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, Advisors, Custodians, fellow Portfolio Administrators and clients. They are expected to provide timely, accurate information and service support in the administration of client accounts. The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and be client-service centric with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize work. The successful candidate is a team player, ready to take on new challenges. They work well under pressure, utilize their excellent problem solving skills to help others, and have advanced Excel skills. This position reports to the Manager of Portfolio Administration.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in account documentation and administration, ideally at a financial services company; client service experience is a plus!
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; CRM software, portfolio management and accounting software is preferred
  • Knowledge and application of AML procedures and past training an asset
  • Canadian Securities Course or other industry or college courses in the area of financial services or investment management would be an asset
  • Collaborative spirit; comfortable working both in a team environment and on individually assigned tasks
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Can-do roll up the sleeves attitude, quick learner with a thirst for knowledge and excels in a fast spaced, quick change environment
  • Post-Secondary education in business is an asset but not a requirement.

Portfolio Management

Associate Portfolio Manager

As an important member of a high performing and fast-growing investment management firm, the Associate Portfolio Manager, is responsible for a wide range of duties that will include: investment and economic research and analysis; portfolio construction and oversight of investment policy statement selection; support of our Family Wealth Advisors; and regular interaction with our clients to communicate strategy and assist in client management. This position is primarily focused on serving and supporting our high net worth clients and reports to the Head of Fundamental Research and Strategy.

Qualifications

  • Thorough investment management knowledge and depth of experience required as it relates to understanding economic, market and corporate data in order to describe the firm's investment strategy to partners and clients.
  • Minimum 3 years direct experience in discretionary investment management, covering both financial analysis and managing portfolios (individuals, estates, trusts, pension plans, foundations, registered accounts), with an expert understanding of investment returns, potential risks and the associated tax implications
  • Must meet the regulatory requirements to be registered with the Ontario Securities Commission as an Associate Advising Representative
  • Ideally, working towards or have completed the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.
  • University Degree (Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Bloomberg, CRM software, portfolio management and accounting software
  • Knowledge and application of AML procedures. Past training an asset
  • Proven exceptional client service experience with the ability to handle complex issues and sensitive client matters
  • Collaborative spirit and comfortable working both in a team environment & on individually assigned projects
  • Keen eye for detail
  • A hardworking and positive attitude with a willingness to take ownership in the role
  • Possess excellent judgment, a strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and manage conflict resolution

  • Fluency in English and ideally French
