Portfolio Manager

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join our investment
management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing individual
securities and/or funds, with a deep understanding of global equities and the ability to identify
investment opportunities in the US and international markets. As a Portfolio Manager, you will
be. a member of Bellwether’s investment team that is responsible for the management of all of
our proprietary funds and strategies as well as implementing the strategy across client
portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the management of equity and multi-asset funds/strategies, focusing on achieving optimal risk-adjusted returns.
  • Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and due diligence of global equity markets, with an emphasis on US and developed international markets.
  • Actively participate in tactical asset mix decisions by continually following a variety of macro factors.
  • Make informed decisions regarding asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management across various global equity sectors and industries.
  • Track and analyze fund performance, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize returns and reduce volatility.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with our Family Wealth advisors and direct clients, providing insights into portfolio performance, market trends, and investment strategy.
  • Prepare regular portfolio reports, security recommendations, presentations, and performance reviews for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Execute trades in Bellwether’s pooled funds and in client portfolios.

Qualifications

  • CFA Charterholder with 5-10 years of experience in managing global equity portfolios, ideally with exposure to US and international equities.
  • Proven ability to analyze global financial markets and identify investment opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to adjust portfolio exposures accordingly.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving strong investment returns and outperforming benchmarks.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Excel).
  • Thrives in a team environment by openly providing feedback and listening to the opinions of colleagues – willing to do what it takes for each other.

Working conditions

This is a hybrid role, which will be required to work in our Oakville office at least three days per week, including our regular Monday morning investment meetings.
