Oakville, Ontario, September 23, 2008 - The J.H.M. Wood Foundation is very pleased to partner with the Gairdner Foundation to create a lecture series targeted to business leaders on the promise and challenges of medical discovery.

The Institute received a $400 million endowment on September 5, 2008 to fund its genomic research.
The lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 1st in the Atrium at Princess Margaret Hospital, 7th floor of PMH at 610 University Avenue. The evening will start at 6:00 p.m. with Dr. Lander's talk on "Cancer and the Genome", followed by Questions and Answers, and then a reception at 7:00 p.m.
