Bellwether Investment Management is a boutique investment manager that offers tailored investment solutions for affluent investors, foundations, estates and trusts utilizing its proprietary “Disciplined Dividend Growth” Investment Process.
Bellwether was created primarily because the partners felt that many affluent investors weren’t receiving the tailored investment services required to meet their needs…
While the roots of the company go back further, Bellwether Investment Management was formed by the merger of TWP and Company and Bellwether Investment Management (wholly owned by Lorne Park Capital Partners Inc.) in December 2009.
John Wood (deceased), the founder of TWP and Company (former CEO and major shareholder of 20/20 Financial), formed TWP in 2005 as a result of his experience implementing investment policies and procedures developed when he was the Chair of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC) Investment Board. Sadly, John passed away in January 2013.
Bellwether Asset Management Inc. was formed in 2009 by Bob Sewell, a seasoned investment executive with over 20 years financial experience advising High Net Worth (HNW) investors. Bellwether Asset Management was renamed Lorne Park Capital Partners in November 2013. Prior to forming Bellwether, Bob was the Senior Vice President in charge of TD Waterhouse Private Investment Counsel, the discretionary investment management division of the TD Bank. His experience in global equities and fixed income portfolio management has permitted him to develop an extensive knowledge of investing and financial planning.
In 2011, Steve Meehan joined Bellwether as Vice Chairman and was appointed Chairman in 2013. Prior to becoming a partner in Bellwether, Steve was the Founder and CEO of Investment Planning Counsel, one of Canada’s largest financial planning companies. Steve joined Bellwether as a result of our shared belief that:
- there is a better way to serve the affluent investor;
- the investment industry lacks transparency regarding the disclosure of fees and commissions; and
- there is far too much focus on creating “one size fits all” products versus crafting investment solutions specifically for affluent investors.
The partners understanding of the ever increasing complexity faced by investors and their extensive professional credentials and experience has allowed them to apply a tailored solutions approach to specific investor scenarios. This “tailored” approach to investment management forms the basis of Bellwether Investment Management.
